These openers are too general and contain too many potential stories – which is not really a good thing. If they’re too general, you just end up with an ordinary sentence that doesn’t even have a hook, which is the point of the opener in the first place. Having said that, I like Number 7 – that’s the best opener you have because I think it’s intriguing and interesting.
